Two FDH Bank Premiership matches on Saturday delivered very different outcomes. Bullets made a late breakthrough at Mpira Stadium, while Silver Strikers and Kamuzu Barracks could not be separated at Silver Stadium.

Mpira Stadium: Bullets 1-0 Civil Service United
Bullets got the goal they needed in the 83rd minute, when Paul Master found the net to break a stubborn stalemate. The game had been goalless at the break, with both sides creating little in the opening 45 minutes.
Bullets’ front three of Ephraim Kondowe, Clever Kalambo and Peter Banda failed to convert their chances, and Civil Service’s Righteous Banda, Thomson Magombo, Kesten Simbi and Khumbo Mhone were unable to find an opener either.
Civil’s defence held firm until the closing stages. Mhone was booked for dissent after a foul on Bullets midfielder Prince Chiumia, and the home fans erupted when Master’s strike arrived. The three points lift Bullets to the top of the table with 39 points from 18 matches.
Silver Stadium: Silver Strikers 0-0 Kamuzu Barracks
Kamuzu Barracks started the stronger, dominating much of the first half and winning several corners and free kicks. Strikers Olson Kanjira and Kelvin Hanganda lacked composure in front of goal, though, and Silver survived the early pressure without a shot on target.

Silver coach Patricio Kulemeka responded at half-time, bringing on Aubrey Khumbila and Robert Saizi for Chinsisi Maonga and Charles Chipala.
Khumbila forced the first shot on target of the match in the 58th minute, but Kamuzu Barracks defender Herbert Wayekha was immovable at the back. Silver pushed for a winner, but neither side found the net.
The draw leaves Silver supporters frustrated as their side drop valuable points in the title race. Kamuzu Barracks will be happier with a hard-earned point away from home.
