The morning after Tataka’s defeat, Rama and Lakshmana stand before Sage Vishwamitra at his hermitage. The atmosphere is tense.
Rama: Gurudev, we have slain Tataka, but her sons, Maricha and Subahu, will not let this rest. They will come with a massive Rakshasa force, wielding terrible magic, to seek revenge. We must be prepared to defend the yajna.
Vishwamitra: You are wise to anticipate their wrath, Rama. But you shall not face them empty-handed. Today, I grant you the ultimate celestial armoury. First, I bestow upon you Bala and Atibala. These are not physical weapons, but advanced metabolic bio-codes that will optimise your cellular energy. You will never feel fatigue, exhaustion, or hunger.
Lakshmana: Perfect. We can fight for days without resting.
Vishwamitra: Exactly. Next, you must understand Samhara, the withdrawal lore. Every action has a reaction. If you release a weapon of massive energy, you must know how to recall and neutralise that energy safely without destroying the environment.
Scores of glowing weapons materialise in the air around them.
Vishwamitra: Behold! The Dharma, Kala, and Indra Chakras harness the unstoppable power of time and weather. The Vishnu Chakra is the ultimate electromagnetic discus. Finally, the mind-controlling Sammohana and the atomic-level creator weapons: the Brahmashira and Brahmastra. Over a hundred celestial systems are now at your command. Use them with a cool mind.
At dusk, the yajna is underway. Suddenly, the sky turns an unnatural purple.
Lakshmana: The atmospheric pressure is dropping rapidly!
Maricha and Subahu descend from the clouds with a roaring army. Maricha, using immense muscular force, hurls massive boulders and uprooted trees. Subahu, weaving dark sorcery, opens a localised portal in the sky and rains putrid blood, flesh, and filth on the altar.
Rama (dodging a boulder): They are blinded by grief, Lakshmana. We took their mother from them. I know the pain of separation. I will not take their lives if I do not have to. I must separate them and give them a warning!
Rama steps forward, tracking Maricha’s trajectory. He fires the Manavastra, a glowing arrow that strikes the air directly in front of Maricha and creates a massive, concentrated shockwave. The explosion of kinetic energy catapults Maricha into the sky and throws him into the ocean, a hundred leagues away.
Enraged by his brother’s defeat, Subahu amplifies his attack.
Rama (sad but resolute): He leaves me no choice.
Rama releases the Agneyastra, the weapon of the Fire God. Blazing white-hot, the arrow cuts through the dark rain and strikes Subahu squarely in the chest. The intense cosmic fire instantly consumes Subahu and purifies the entire ritual ground in a blinding flash of light.
Lakshmana: The leader has fallen, but the army is still advancing!
Rama: Let us clear the field!
Rama shoots the Vayavyastra, the wind missile, into the centre of the army. Upon impact, it manipulates the local air pressure, creating a high-speed vortex. A localised hurricane sweeps across the hermitage, blowing the Rakshasa army away.
The sky clears. Vishwamitra smiles at the princes.
Did You Know?
Metabolic Efficiency: Vishwamitra gave the princes the power to ignore hunger and fatigue. In real science, scientists study extreme survival in animals (like bears hibernating or birds migrating thousands of miles) to understand how to optimise cellular metabolism and energy storage!
Kinetic Propulsion: This uses Newton’s Third Law of Motion (For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction). Today, rockets and jet engines burn fuel to create high-pressure gas, which is then expelled at high speed to propel the vehicle forward.
Thermal Purification: Fire is a chemical reaction (combustion) but when it gets hot enough, it enters the plasma state. Hospitals today use extreme thermal energy (incineration) to safely destroy biological hazards.
Aerodynamics: Wind in our atmosphere is simply air rushing from a high-pressure zone to a low-pressure zone!
Build your own Kinetic Rocket
Let’s build a safe indoor version to see Newton’s Third Law in action!
You need: Around 15 feet of string; a plastic drinking straw; a large balloon, a tape, two chairs
Step 1: Create the flight path. Thread your string through the plastic drinking straw.
Step 2: Set the range. Tie one end of the string to a chair and pull it tight across the room. Tie the other end to the second chair.
Step 3: Load the energy. Blow up your balloon but do not tie it shut! Just pinch the end tightly with your fingers. The trapped air is your stored kinetic energy.
Step 4: Arm the weapon. While holding the balloon pinched shut, carefully tape the side of the balloon to the plastic straw resting on the string.
Step 5: Launch. Pull the balloon all the way to one end of the string. Count down and let go of the pinched end!
The science behind it: When you let go, the stretched rubber of the balloon violently squeezes the air out of the back. According to Newton’s Third Law, as the air pushes backward (the action), the balloon is pushed forward along the string (the reaction). You just harnessed kinetic propulsion.
