PETALING JAYA: The provider of the TuJu navigation app says its technical team is working on restoring and improving the app’s navigation functions following disruptions flagged by users in the past few days.
Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd apologised for the disruptions and said the restoration and improvement work was targeted for completion by Nov 6.
“Our priority is to ensure navigation functions return to stable and smooth operation and fulfil users' travel needs.
“We will announce developments on the restoration work via TuJu’s official channels. At the moment, the app’s other functions can be used as normal,” it said in a statement today.
The statement comes after the government said earlier today that it had instructed the company, as well as the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), which jointly operates the app with Prosignal, to explain the technical disruptions flagged by users.
Government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil said both parties must provide detailed explanations of the problems' root causes and technical aspects, the app’s current performance, and ongoing or planned corrective measures.
Fahmi also said that Chief Secretary Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar would chair a meeting with the secretaries-general of several ministries to examine LLM and Prosignal’s explanations as well as an improvement action plan with clear targets and timelines.
Yesterday, LLM also apologised for the disruptions on TuJu and said it would work with Prosignal to identify their causes, restore system stability, and improve the app’s capacity to handle increased user volume.
It also said it was taking into account feedback on navigation features, route information accuracy and the overall user experience.
