Donnelly took down both of her competitors in straight sets, downing Mya Byrd from Old Dominion in the round of 64 in a 9:30 a.m. match. She then demolished Richmond’s Lucy Webber just four hours later.
Donnelly has never shied away from big moments in her young collegiate career. She provided the final point against Northwestern last season to clinch Maryland’s win in the first round of the Big Ten tournament.
The two victories move her ITA singles record to 7-4 as she prepares for a singles match and a doubles match — coupled with fellow Terp Katherine Hung — Friday.
