Indian enterprises are discovering that moving AI from proof of concept to production is as much an infrastructure planning problem as a technology one. GPU capacity remains scarce, pricing is often denominated in foreign currency, and questions about where data is stored and processed can stall projects in regulated sectors. Against that backdrop, Utho Cloud, an Indian cloud infrastructure provider, has opened reservations for NVIDIA B300 GPUs built on the Blackwell Ultra architecture, with deployment expected in February 2027.
The offer is aimed at AI companies, research institutions and enterprises that want to secure dedicated capacity well before hardware goes live.
What is on offer
The NVIDIA B300 carries 288GB of HBM3e memory and targets demanding workloads such as large language model training, inference, advanced reasoning and AI agents. Utho will let customers reserve capacity under committed terms of one, two or three years, with availability allocated in the order reservations are received.
That first-come, first-served allocation matters for planning. Organisations that expect to need substantial GPU capacity in 2027 have an incentive to commit early rather than compete for spot availability once demand peaks.
Three issues are driving the pitch to Indian IT leaders.
Capacity certainty. High demand and limited supply make it hard to scale AI initiatives on a predictable timeline. A reservation model lets teams build GPU requirements into project roadmaps and budgets instead of relying on ad hoc procurement.
Cost predictability. Utho bills in rupees, which removes exposure to currency fluctuations that can swing the cost of dollar-priced cloud GPU services. For CIOs managing multi-year AI budgets, a fixed-currency commitment simplifies financial planning, though buyers should still examine the committed-term economics closely.
Data residency. Because the infrastructure is hosted in India, organisations can more readily meet data localisation and residency expectations, a consideration for sectors such as financial services, healthcare and the public sector. Utho also promises round-the-clock engineering support.
“India’s AI ecosystem is moving beyond experimentation,” said Manoj Dhanda, founder and CEO of Utho Cloud. “Enterprises, startups and research teams need reliable access to advanced computing to build, train and deploy AI applications at scale.” He said the reservation programme is meant to give businesses “greater certainty around access, costs and data location.”
Utho says its platform serves more than 51,000 customers, including over 3,500 B2B clients, across cloud computing, GPU infrastructure, storage and managed services. The company has outlined plans to invest in and deploy 10,000 GPUs, and positions itself under the banner “Desh Ka AI Cloud.”
