A woman has been charged after allegedly trying to poison a colleague she was in a relationship with by lacing a homemade curry lunch with snail pellets.
Police allege a Golden Bay woman, 43, in Perth’s south, contaminated a curry her colleague brought to work to share with their workmates in February this year.
The Oldbury workmates enjoyed the curry without incident at morning tea.
But police allege the woman later entered a chemical storage shed before returning to the staff lunchroom where the curry was kept.

It is alleged the 58-year-old victim – who was in a personal relationship with the woman – went to eat some curry at lunchtime but noticed green granules in the curry.
Police say she tried the curry and experienced numbness on her tongue.
The food was handed over to police, who allegedly identified the green granules were snail pellets containing a poisonous substance known as metaldehyde.
Detectives charged the Golden Bay woman with one count of unlawful act or omission with intent to harm (endangering the life, health or safety of any person) last week.
She is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on November 5.
