How to Get Jack-O’-Cat Sidekick in Fortnite

Epic Games seems to love cats, as Jack-O’-Cat is the second feline Sidekick to be introduced to Fortnite during Fortnitemares 2026. Described as “Pumpkinheaded purr-fection,” this Sidekick has a pumpkin for a head, which is very reminiscent of the original Punk skin from Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4. That said, if you want to get your hands on this precious furball, here’s how to get the Jack-O’-Cat Sidekick in Fortnite.

The Jack-O’-Cat Sidekick was released on October 20, 2026, at 8 PM ET with the Fortnite Item Shop reset. Unlike the recent Hollow Knight Sidekick in Fortnite, our latest feline is not part of a bundle. Given the pet’s design, many assumed it would be bundled with “Sugar,” who also has a pumpkin for a head. That said, if you want to get the Sidekick, here are the steps you need to follow:

• Open Fortnite and navigate to the Item Shop.
• Look for the “Jack-O’-Cat” section under the “Locker of Horrors” tab in the Fortnite Item Shop.
• Click on Jack-O’-Cat (1,200 V-Bucks).
• Click and hold the Purchase button until the circle fills up.
• Fortnite will notify you when it adds the Jack-O’-Cat Sidekick to your locker.
• Then select Jack-O’-Cat Sidekick from your Fortnite locker and customize it.

With Fortnitemares 2026 coming to an end, this is one of the last Sidekicks to be added to the Fortnite Item Shop in Override. Given that there are more alluring cosmetics to purchase during this time, you may want to hold off on buying the Jack-O’-Cat Sidekick in Fortnite at the moment.

In any case, it will return to the Item Shop at a later time, and since prices stay the same, you can also get it later. On the chance you do get it now, remember to equip the Jack-O’-Cat Sidekick in Fortnite and spend time with it in matches. You earn Sidekick Points that unlock the following bonus rewards:

Cosmetic Name	Cosmetic Type
Sweet Fish	Emoticon
Pumpkin Heart	Reaction
Jack-O’-Cat (Candy)	Style
Midnight Meow	Emote

While spending time with Jack-O’-Cat, you can also get the Jimothy Sidekick in Fortnite for free. Extract a Dumpster Dive Sprite in Fortnite, and the adorable raccoon is yours forever to keep. It, too, has bonus rewards that you can unlock.

The Jack-O’-Cat Sidekick leaves the Fortnite Item Shop on October 27, 2026. This essentially marks the end phase for Fortnitemares 2026 as well, which means you just have a few days to make the most of things.
