PETALING JAYA: Several schools in Negeri Sembilan were put on alert today after finding suspicious packages that had either been delivered or left in their compounds. They were later found to contain only flour and plastic plates.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad said police had received five reports in Nilai and four in Tampin about the packages.
All the packages were similar in shape and content and had reportedly been left in the school compounds for some time before the school authorities lodged reports because the named recipients had not claimed them.
“The bomb disposal unit found no explosives or dangerous materials inside. "The packages contained wheat flour and plastic plates,” he said in a statement today.
Alzafny said police would investigate who sent the packages and why.
Social media users had reported that at least five schools had received the packages and that police and K9 units were seen at the schools.
