AN off-duty cop stepped in to save a young woman after armed thugs battered her unconscious in Malaga.
The two attackers, armed with a baton and a knuckleduster, allegedly beat the victim in the early hours of Sunday, leaving her unconscious on the pavement after smashing a glass bottle over her head.
The Policia Nacional officer, who happened to be nearby, rushed to the woman’s aid after spotting the attack unfolding on Calle Granados.

According to Diario Sur, the heroic cop identified himself as a police officer and stepped between the victim and her attackers, managing to disarm and arrest both men while bystanders called emergency services.
Police patrols and an ambulance raced to the scene, with officers taking charge of the suspects as paramedics treated the injured woman.
She was then rushed to Malaga Regional University Hospital with severe head injuries, though her current condition remains unknown.
It remains unclear what prompted the vicious attack.
