Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, says construction activities have been intensified along the Ago-Iwoye–Oru–Ijebu-Ode Road in Ijebu North Local Government Area to improve road infrastructure and connectivity across the state.
Abiodun disclosed this in a post on X on Thursday, October 15, noting that work was ongoing at different sections of the road, particularly around Chips Junction in Ago-Iwoye and the Ago-Iwoye–Abusi Edumare axis.

The governor said construction work at Chips Junction included the casting of reinforced concrete drainage walls, laying of concrete blinding and installation of steel reinforcement for the drainage system.
He added that excavation of road shoulders was also ongoing along the Ago-Iwoye–Abusi Edumare section, with heavy-duty construction equipment deployed to prepare the affected areas for subsequent construction activities.
According to Abiodun, the drainage works are designed to improve stormwater management, tackle flooding and erosion challenges, and enhance the durability of the road infrastructure.

He said, “We recognise the importance of this road to residents, motorists, traders and other road users who depend on it for their daily activities.”
The governor added that the intervention was aimed at improving accessibility, enhancing road safety and facilitating the movement of people, goods and services across the affected communities.

“Upon completion, we expect the project to significantly improve connectivity between Ago-Iwoye, Oru, Ijebu-Ode and adjoining communities while supporting commercial and socioeconomic activities within the corridor,” he said.
Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering sustainable road infrastructure across Ogun State’s three senatorial districts, saying more communities would benefit from the ongoing infrastructural projects.
