Davante Adams’ injury could force the Los Angeles Rams to reconsider their plans ahead of the NFL trade deadline. With Adams potentially unavailable for up to 10 weeks, the Rams suddenly have more pressure on Puka Nacua and Matthew Stafford to carry the passing game. The Rams are already 2-4, so an aggressive move may be necessary if they still believe they can make a playoff push.

Terry McLaurin could become available
Terry McLaurin would arguably be the dream addition for the Rams. The Washington Commanders have struggled to establish consistency, and if the losing continues, the organization could eventually consider moving veteran pieces before the deadline.
McLaurin has already drawn trade speculation, though Washington has historically resisted moving him. The Commanders previously dealt with a trade request from McLaurin before ultimately keeping him, showing how complicated a potential deal could become.
For Los Angeles, McLaurin would provide exactly what the offense needs: a proven receiver who can win downfield while also handling a significant target workload. Pairing him with Nacua would give Stafford two legitimate weapons and make it much harder for defenses to concentrate coverage on one player.
If Washington falls further out of contention, the Rams should at least make the call.
Quentin Johnston could be a buy-low option

Quentin Johnston is a much different type of trade target, but the situation in Los Angeles makes him intriguing. The Chargers are currently winless, and trade speculation surrounding Johnston will surely intensify as the deadline approaches.
Johnston has been inconsistent during his Chargers career, but he remains a physically gifted receiver who could benefit from a change of scenery. The Rams would not need him to become their No. 1 receiver. Instead, he could provide another big-play threat alongside Nacua.

Keenan Allen would bring veteran reliability

Keenan Allen could be the safest short-term option. The 34-year-old signed with Indianapolis this offseason after a long career with the Chargers and has more than 1,000 career receptions and 12,000 receiving yards. The Colts lost in Week 6 to the Titans and are reportedly closer to being sellers than buyers.
Allen would not necessarily need to be the explosive receiver he was earlier in his career. His route-running, reliability, and ability to create separation underneath could give Stafford a dependable target while the Rams navigate Adams’ injury.
