YAN appeals for peace between Yimkhiung and Tikhir communities
২১/১০/২০২৬

Dimapur, October 21 (MExN): The Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) has appealed to the Yimkhiung and Tikhir communities to maintain peace, remain calm, and resolve their differences through dialogue and mutual understanding. In a statement issued on October 20, YAN stated that both communities form an essential part of the Naga family and expressed hope that no disagreement would weaken the bonds of brotherhood and mutual respect. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the association urged leaders, elders, and youth from both sides to act with wisdom, exercise restraint, and avoid any words or actions that could further escalate tensions. The association further appealed to the public to refrain from spreading rumors or unverified information and to support all genuine efforts aimed at peaceful dialogue. Emphasizing that YAN remains neutral, the appeal was made in the larger interest of peace, unity, and the well-being of the people. Stating that differences should never become a reason for lasting division, YAN called upon both communities to choose dialogue over confrontation, understanding over mistrust, and reconciliation over division to secure a harmonious future for the younger generation.
