Jack Wolff, the nine-year-old son of Toto and Susie Wolff, has been involved in a karting accident. Footage shows another kart going over him. Jack was able to get out of the kart and walk away unaided, and appears to be doing well. He is already eager to get back to racing.
The accident happened while several karts were driving close together. One of them lifted off the ground and went over Wolff's kart. At the end of the video, the young driver can be seen walking away on his own, still wearing his helmet. Jack is reportedly determined to get back behind the wheel the very next day. It is not yet known whether he will actually be able to compete.

Jack Wolff recently won his first karting title
Jack has already enjoyed several successes in recent months. In September, he claimed his first championship in the X30 U10 class of the IAME Series Italy Racing Formula. He went into the final round at the Leopard Circuit in Viterbo as the leader and secured the title for KR Motorsport with a win. He earned his first victory in the series in July at the Cremona circuit.
With his parents, Jack naturally has plenty of motorsport experience around him. Toto, of course, leads the Mercedes Formula 1 team, while former driver Susie heads up F1 Academy. Still, his father does not want to get too far ahead of himself when it comes to a possible professional racing career. In an interview earlier this year, he stressed that Jack is still young and that his enjoyment of racing could change.
For Toto, watching from the sidelines is a different experience
Following his son also affects Wolff differently from managing his Formula 1 team. The Mercedes team principal previously said that, as a father, he is much more emotional trackside at the kart circuit. In Formula 1, he is used to making decisions; with Jack, he mostly has to watch. According to Wolff, life at home revolves almost entirely around driving, from the simulator to the kart. If Jack has gone a few days without driving, he is already asking when he can get back to the circuit. Even after this accident, his desire to race still seems as strong as ever.
