Europe’s leading clubs return to UEFA Champions League action on Tuesday, with nine fixtures scheduled for Matchday Two of the league phase as Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich seek crucial victories.
Arsenal host Lille at the Emirates Stadium, Manchester United travel to Atletico Madrid, while Barcelona face Galatasaray in Istanbul.
Arsenal will look to build on their opening 1-0 victory over Napoli after Lille lost 3-2 to Real Betis. Mikel Arteta’s side will rely on their attacking quality and defensive organisation to overcome the French visitors.
Manchester United travel to Madrid after beginning their campaign with a 4-0 win over Sabah FK. Atletico, meanwhile, must respond after losing 2-1 to Liverpool. United will need to maintain their attacking efficiency against Diego Simeone’s tactically disciplined side.
Barcelona face Galatasaray following a 5-1 victory over Feyenoord, while the Turkish side lost 3-1 to Sporting CP. Victor Osimhen’s availability could boost Galatasaray’s attack, with his pace and movement offering a potential threat against Barcelona’s high defensive line.
Bayern Munich visit Viking after opening their campaign with a 5-0 victory over Bodø/Glimt. Their hosts lost 3-1 to Stuttgart and face a difficult challenge against the German side’s attacking strength.
Elsewhere, Inter Milan host Club Brugge, RB Leipzig welcome PSV Eindhoven, while Villarreal face Napoli. Inter, Leipzig, Villarreal and Napoli will all be seeking improved results after disappointing opening fixtures.
The early matches see Lens host Sporting CP, with both teams coming off opening-round victories, while Sabah FK face Slavia Prague as both look for their first points.
