FORT MYERS — U.S. President Donald Trump urged Iran to reach a deal, raising the prospect of another large-scale air campaign.
Speaking in Fort Myers, Florida, on the 23rd, Trump said the United States could carry out another "Epic Fury" operation, or else Iran would agree to a deal. Epic Fury was the code name given to the surprise attack that the United States and Israel launched against Iran on Feb. 28. Trump said that if Iran were smart, it would say it was ready to negotiate in earnest, and that he would deal with Cuba on the way back from Iran. He said beautiful warships would pass by Cuba and that he would anchor one of them about 50 yards, or roughly 46 meters, off the coast. Trump added that Cuba would raise both hands and surrender, after which he would send Secretary of State Marco Rubio to finish the job.
Earlier, on the 8th of this month, Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social that the United States would not attack Iran at any point before the U.S. midterm elections on Nov. 3. He said at the time that Iran was in a very bad position both economically and militarily, and that the blockade would be maintained in full.
