John Goodman is reflecting on his four decade career as his latest film, Digger, becomes one of the biggest box office bombs of all time.
The Roseanne star, 74, revealed some of the roles he regrets taking during a live conversation hosted by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation in New York this week.
Goodman admitted that he 'shouldn't have done' Blues Brothers 2000, which was a sequel to the 1980 cult classic starring Dan Aykroyd.
Unlike the original film, the sequel was a box office bomb that received mixed reviews from critics.
Goodman also expressed some regret over doing critically-panned 2014 war film The Monuments Men, although he did say that he enjoyed filming the star-studded project.
'The thing is, it's one of those movies that was like the Blues Brothers 2000. I probably shouldn't have done, but I had more fun doing it,' he explained, adding that he loved working with the many 'great musicians' involved in Blues Brothers 2000.

'George's movie, I had one of the best times I've ever had on a film,' he continued, before joking that the movie made 'nothing' at the box office.
The Monuments Men, which was written and directed by Clooney, actually grossed a respectable $158million at the box office, although it wasn't enough to justify the budget and marketing costs.
It was also brutally panned by critics, earning a 'rotten' score of 30% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The 2014 film featured an A-list cast that included Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and Cate Blanchett and followed a group of conservationists as they tried to save pieces of art before they were destroyed by the Nazis during World War II.

The big budget satire is currently on track to become one of the biggest box office bombs of all time after tanking in its first two weekends.
During its opening weekend, it grossed just $8million in US theaters, with international sales of $12million from 74 countries.
Ticket sales for the movie declined by 60 per cent in its second weekend, bringing its tally to $14.4million domestically and $35.3million globally.

Industry insiders report that Digger is now tracking to lose a huge $245million in its theatrical run, with its estimated global box office total to be just $50million.
Variety reports that the movie needs $350million globally to break even because cinema owners get to keep about half of ticket sales.
Warner Bros. greenlit the film for $125million, but the budget soared to an estimated $180million after production went over schedule.
The studio then spent another $100million on marketing, which has seen leading man Cruise in promotional overdrive.
If the estimates pan out and Digger does lose $245million, it would put the film among the biggest box office bombs of all time.
With $161million in losses, Disney's 2012 flop John Carter holds the Guinness World Record for the biggest flop in history.
A year later Disney suffered another $160million loss with The Lone Ranger.

The film, which also stars Tom Cruise, is on track to become one of the biggest box office bombs of all time
Digger is one of the few awards-focused movies that Cruise has starred in for almost three decades and is directed by four-time Oscar winner Iñárritu, who is known for his work on Birdman and The Revenant.
The satirical black comedy sees Cruise play a wealthy oil tycoon who unleashes an environmental disaster and then tries to prove he is the only man capable of saving the world. Goodman plays the US president.
Some Hollywood insiders suggest that the movie star could still be on course for his first Oscar, despite the biggest box office flop of his career.
Awards site Gold Derby experts currently have Cruise in fourth for a Best Actor nomination (with odds at 63 per cent) but caution the 2027 category is a hotly contested race with Andrew Scott (Elsinore), John Malkovich (Wild Horse Nine) and Matt Damon (The Odyssey) all thought to be shoo-ins for a nod.
Digger has also been much better received by European critics, many whom have hailed it as a masterpiece despite the wave of negative reviews from American media outlets.
On Rotten Tomatoes, Digger has a surprisingly high audience score of 75%, despite the critical score languishing at just 53%.
