The Green Bay Packers activated running back Josh Jacobs from exempt status on Saturday, headlining the four roster moves made before Sunday's NFC North showdown with the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
Jacobs, who missed the first six weeks of the regular season, is back on the 53-man roster and will be available to play for Matt LaFleur's team on Sunday. Jacobs is expected to make his 2026 season debut, and the Packers are hoping he can provide a spark to the league's worst running game.
The other Packers roster moves: receiver/returner Coleman Owen was signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, defensive lineman Jordon Riley was activated from the PUP list to the 53-man roster and edge rusher Arron Mosby was elevated from the practice squad to the gameday roster for Week 7.
Owen, who handled punt returns in place of Skyy Moore as a gameday elevation against the Dallas Cowboys last week, will resume the role as a member of the 53-man roster. Owen can also provide depth as a slot receiver. He returned one punt for 16 yards and successfully fair caught two other punts last week.
Riley is back on the 53-man roster after two weeks of practice. He tore his Achilles tendon in late December of last season and make his 2026 debut on Sunday against the Lions, likely playing important snaps as a run defender against a Detroit run game featuring Jahmyr Gibbs. Riley is a traditional nose tackle type.
Mosby is up from the practice squad for the second straight week. He played 11 snaps on special teams against the Cowboys, tallying one solo tackle and one assisted tackle covering kicks and punts. Mosby has been on the field for over 200 special teams snaps during each of the last two seasons in Green Bay.
The Packers face the Lions at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday at Ford Field.
