The Defense Acquisition Program Administration has barred LIG Defense & Aerospace, formerly LIG Nex1, from bidding on government contracts for two years over allegations that the company gave money to a DAPA official. It is the harshest sanction available under the State Contracts Act.
DAPA reached the decision on the afternoon of Oct. 20 after convening its contract review committee, a 20-member panel that includes outside members, to deliberate on whether to penalize LIG Defense & Aerospace. The sanction stems from a case in which a vice president and an executive director at the company were indicted on charges of giving money to a DAPA official.
