NASCAR Stars Set for Another Year With JRM
JR Motorsports is bringing back two of its biggest names for the 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season, as Shane van Gisbergen and Ross Chastain are set to compete in select races for the organization.
The announcement, made Tuesday, October 20, confirms that both drivers will return to the No. 9 Chevrolet for multiple races next season. Their individual schedules have not yet been announced, but their return gives JR Motorsports another opportunity to compete for victories with two proven NASCAR Cup Series drivers.
Van Gisbergen and Chastain both compete full-time for Trackhouse Racing in the Cup Series, making their additional starts in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series an exciting opportunity for fans to see them compete in another environment.
SVG Looks to Continue His Road-Course Dominance
Van Gisbergen, widely known as SVG, has quickly established himself as one of NASCAR’s strongest road-course racers. The New Zealand native has brought his international racing experience to NASCAR and become a serious threat whenever the series visits a road course or street circuit.
In 2026, SVG made three starts with JR Motorsports, winning at Circuit of the Americas and Sonoma Raceway. Those victories demonstrated how dangerous he can be behind the wheel of the No. 9 Chevrolet.
His ability to navigate technical corners, manage tire wear and find speed on unfamiliar tracks makes him a major asset for JRM whenever he enters a race.
Fans will now get another chance to watch SVG chase additional victories with the organization in 2027.
Chastain Brings Aggression and Winning Potential
Chastain also enjoyed success with JR Motorsports in 2026, winning the rain-shortened race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He also earned a pole position at Dover and delivered several strong performances throughout his schedule.
Known for his aggressive driving style and willingness to battle for position, Chastain gives the No. 9 Chevrolet a different strength from SVG. His experience in the Cup Series also makes him a serious contender whenever he returns to the lower division.
What This Means for JR Motorsports
The return of both drivers gives JR Motorsports additional firepower for 2027. The team has built a reputation for developing talent and winning races, and bringing back two successful Cup Series competitors strengthens its lineup for selected events.
With the exact schedules still to come, fans will have to wait to learn which tracks each driver will tackle next season. However, one thing is already clear: SVG and Chastain will once again give JR Motorsports a chance to contend for victories in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
