A total of 26 short films, documentaries and feature films from Nepal and other countries were screened during the festival.
Executive Director of Katha Mandala, Pandav Khatri, said that documentaries highlighting the cultural and historical aspects of Lumbini Province were also screened during the festival.
The festival was organised in collaboration with Tansen Municipality, the Nepal Tourism Board, the Lumbini Province Government and local governments.
More than 20 artistes from Nepal and abroad participated in the festival, including veteran actor and director Neer Shah, actress Sharmila Malla and actor Dhiren Shakya.
During the three-day event, more than 3,000 people interested in films attended the festival. They said the festival had shown that films could be made with a small budget by bringing hidden stories from villages to the screen.
Rajiv Shah, a local of Tansen, said the film festival had played a supportive role in bringing the traditional languages, arts and identities of villages to the global stage with a small investment.
The organisers said the festival had encouraged film producers and investors to come to the district and motivated the government to expand infrastructure for film production.
