The African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has challenged President Bola Tinubu to name those that collected billions of naira from ministers to secure appointments.
Atiku threw the challenge in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Friday.
He was reacting to a claim made by the spokesman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, Alwan Hassan.
DAILY POST recalls that Hassan had during an interview on Arise Television alleged that some ministers pay billions of naira to secure appointments.
According to Hassan, ministers are among the most corrupt officials in government and that after paying to be appointed, their next plan is to recoup the money.
Reacting, Atiku said, "Bola, your campaign spokesman has admitted that ministers paid billions in bribes to secure their appointments. You appointed them, so who received the money? Nigerians deserve names, not silence.”
The former Vice President stated that Tinubu's government has driven the cost of living crisis through reckless decisions.
Atiku also claimed that President Tinubu is withholding funds from ministries because he does not trust his own ministers.
