A 19-year-old woman, Emmanuella Asante, has been remanded into police custody in Ghana over the death of her 33-year-old boyfriend, Enoch Abrokwa, who allegedly died after being stabbed with broken glass during a disagreement.
According to a statement by the Ghana Police Service, the incident occurred on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the deceased’s business premises at Ofankor Barrier in Accra.
The police said an argument between the couple allegedly escalated, with Asante accused of stabbing Abrokwa in the chest with a piece of broken glass.

Abrokwa was initially rushed to a hospital in Taifa-Burkina before being transferred to Ridge Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a deep abdominal wound.
He died from his injuries on October 14, five days after the incident.
The suspect was arrested on October 10 after the complainant and three other people brought her to the police station. She reportedly admitted to the stabbing while in custody.
The case is being investigated by the Tesano Divisional Police Command in collaboration with the Accra Regional Police Command.
Asante has been arraigned in court and remanded into police custody. She is expected to reappear on November 3.
The Accra Regional Police Command urged the public to resolve disputes peacefully and avoid violence, while appealing for continued cooperation with law enforcement as investigations continue.
