By Zoila Palma: U.S. Ambassador to Belize Andre Bauer and his family recently toured Spanish Lookout, Cayo District, exploring one of Belize’s major agricultural and industrial communities.
The visit offered an opportunity to experience the community’s distinctive character and its contributions to the country’s economy through farming, food production, and industry.
During the visit, the ambassador and his family took in the sights and flavors of the community, which is known for producing a range of goods, including milk, chicken, ice cream, and eggs.
The U.S. Embassy highlighted the experience in a social media post, stating, “There’s plenty to appreciate about the special community and charm in Spanish Lookout!”
Established in 1958 by Mennonite pioneers who migrated from Mexico, Spanish Lookout has developed into a significant agricultural and industrial centre in Belize.
