Coach Alex Golesh’s Auburn Tigers had fans going berserk after they shocked the college football world with a 27-24 road over Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs in Week 7 action. Golesh shared a heartwarming moment with his son after the game as the Tigers moved to 4-2 on the season.
The day started with a prediction from country singer Riley Green that looked a bit foolish but was proven to be a genius pick as Golesh’s Tigers did their thing.
“I think Georgia has the better football team, but I’m War Eagle all the way,” Green said as Tim Tebow of the SEC Network crew shouted about his surprise pick.

Byrum Brown was the star of the day for Golesh’s team as he was effective both running and throwing against Smart’s team. He finished was 150 yards passing and one passing touchdown along with 26 carries for 115 yards and a touchdown. The performance from Brown was even more remarkable considering that he was shaded leading up to the game by Tigers offensive coordinator Joel Gordon.
Brown showed what he is made of in one of the biggest wins of the college football season. It was a game Golesh and his team won’t soon forget, and it will shake up the rankings come Monday morning. Auburn suddenly looks like a dark horse SEC contender again, with games against LSU and Ole Miss up next on the schedule. Golesh and his team gained national fame with their huge win, one of the biggest in recent program history and one that Green clearly saw coming.
