KUALA LUMPUR: Police are tracking down a woman who kicked an auxiliary policeman in the groin after he confronted her for driving against traffic flow near a shopping complex in Damansara yesterday.
Police have identified the suspect and believed that she could be on the run.
Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook said the incident occurred at 8.38am while the 30-year-old auxiliary policeman was on duty.
He said the policeman noticed a Hyundai Inokom parked facing the wrong direction, with its driver honking at other vehicles without reason.
The officer approached the woman and advised her to move the vehicle.
"However, the suspect showed an obscene gesture," Hoo said when contacted.
He said the woman then got out of the vehicle and attempted to attack the policeman before kicking him in the groin.
The policeman sought help from other personnel as he struggled with the woman and tried to restrain her, but she managed to flee.
"Efforts to track down the suspect are ongoing," Hoo said.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting behaviour.
