Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) Employees Association has urged the Vice-Chancellor (V-C) to revoke the suspension of four officials by the Syndicate on the basis of an inquiry report by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau over allegations of irregularities in appointments to the sweeper-cum-cleaner posts.
The association representatives alleged that the officials were not given an opportunity to explain their position and that they were suspended before issuing a charge memo. They urged the university authorities to review the circumstances leading to the suspension and to consider whether they can be reinstated, according to a release.
The association requested the authorities to permit the officials to resume their duties, as the vigilance inquiry proceedings have been completed. It warned of staging an agitation if the authorities did not revoke the suspension.
