(ANSA) - ROME, 22 OTT - The supreme Court of Cassation on Thursday rejected the appeals and finalized four-month suspended prison sentences for 13 far-right militants who performed Fascist salutes during an annual march in Milan on April 29, 2018 commemorating Sergio Ramelli, an 18-year-old member of the neofascist youth group Fronte della Gioventù (Youth Front) who was killed by the far-left group Avanguardia Operaia in 1975.
Ramelli was brutally attacked with iron bars and wrenches in March 1975 and died 47 days later. His case remains a prominent event from Italy's Anni di Piombo (Years of Lead) of rightist and leftist terrorism.
The defendants were charged with engaging in a fascist demonstration, in violation of Article 5 of the Scelba Law banning the reconstitution of Mussolini's Fascist Party. (ANSA).
