Former NFL standout Cordarrelle Patterson has been arrested in Tennessee following allegations of domestic assault involving his wife, according to court documents and media reports.

An arrest warrant obtained by TMZ states that Patterson’s wife told police he allegedly grabbed her by the hair and arm during a dispute at their home in Sevierville.
She reportedly contacted emergency services after the incident, telling officers she feared for her safety and the safety of their children.
According to the warrant, a responding officer observed bruising on the woman’s left bicep, which authorities described as consistent with her account. The report also states that the alleged assault occurred as she attempted to call 911.
Patterson faces one count of domestic assault. However, the allegations haven’t been proven in court. Reports available at the time of writing didn’t include a public response from Patterson or his representatives.
The case has attracted attention because of Patterson’s lengthy professional football career and his reputation as one of the NFL’s most versatile return specialists.
Patterson’s NFL career and family life
Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Patterson attended Northwestern High School before playing college football at the University of Tennessee.
His performances earned him a first-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, with the Minnesota Vikings choosing him 29th overall.
During his 12-season NFL career, Patterson played for the Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers.
His ability to contribute as both a running back and kick returner made him a valuable player across multiple franchises.
One of the biggest highlights of his career came in February 2019, when he won Super Bowl LIII with the New England Patriots.
Patterson also earned four Pro Bowl selections and several All-Pro honors. He became particularly well known for his kickoff returns, establishing himself as a dangerous threat whenever he received the ball in open space.
Patterson’s final NFL stint came with Pittsburgh. He signed a two-year contract with the Steelers in April 2024 but was released in July 2025. An ankle injury limited his appearances during the 2024 season.
Away from football, Patterson and his wife, Taylor Quick, reportedly met in 2014 before marrying in July 2024. The couple share three children, including two sons and a daughter.
Further details about the case, including any scheduled court appearances, plea or response from Patterson, weren’t confirmed in the information available at the time of writing.
