Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu’s administration, using the reported Ebola outbreak in Nigeria to highlight the economic hardship facing citizens.
Melaye, in a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, suggested that Nigerians were less concerned about the Ebola announcement because they had endured what he described as an even bigger problem under Tinubu’s government for more than three years.
The former lawmaker expressed his criticism in a play on the names of the President and the virus, declaring that “Bola pass Ebola.”
“Nigerians seem not to worry about the announcement of the Ebola outbreak. Everybody no send, because they have been living with Ebola senior brother for more than 3 years now. Bola! Bola pass Ebola,” he wrote.
Melaye’s comment compared the economic difficulties experienced by Nigerians under the current administration to the threat posed by the Ebola virus.

The former senator, who is known for his satirical remarks and political jabs, appeared to suggest that prolonged hardship had made many citizens increasingly indifferent to alarming developments.
His post comes amid public attention surrounding the reported Ebola outbreak in Nigeria, which has renewed concerns about public health and the country’s preparedness to contain the disease.
Nigeria previously recorded an Ebola outbreak in 2014, making the latest announcement a subject of concern given the potentially serious consequences of the virus.
