Dominick Reyes had one of the standout performances at UFC 333 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, scoring a TKO win over Azamat Murzakanov in the first round.
However, after his tirade on X aimed at UFC legend and color commentator Daniel Cormier late on Saturday night, the victory in the Octagon isn’t what people are talking about concerning him. Let’s talk UFC.

What Did Dominick Reyes Say About Daniel Cormier?
Reyes took exception to Cormier referring to him as “kid” during the broadcast and he made it known in an X post that didn’t mention Cormier, but it was clear who he was talking to.
How Did Daniel Cormier Respond?
Less than 40 minutes later, Cormier caught wind of it and replied in thread.
Reyes wasn’t having any of Cormier’s attempts to defuse the situation. He took umbrage with what he called biased commentary. Reyes claimed Paul Felder called Cormier out on it.
When the exchange ended, Reyes called a halt to it by saying he would stop, “but not because you asked me to.”
For the record, Cormier is 47 and Reyes is 36.
Was Dominick Reyes Right to Call Out Cormier?
Quite honestly, it was likely a bit of oversensitivity from Reyes. He also accused Cormier of being biased against fighters from the “caucus region.”
Reyes is Mexican-American, so that was an odd statement.
It’s also interesting because I’ve heard Black fans suggest Cormier doesn’t support African American fighters with his commentary. One thing is for sure, when you do your job in the public, everyone will always have something to say about the way you work. Even I don’t always agree with Cormier’s commentary.
What’s Next for Reyes and Cormier?
Cormier invited Reyes to have a conversation, but it doesn’t sound like something he’s interested in. We’ll see, but this creates an interesting dynamic the next time Reyes is on a card and Cormier is at the announcer’s table.
