(ANSA) - ROME, 14 OTT - Italy's recent military redeployment from Iraq to Saudi Arabia is fully above board but Defence Minister Guido Crosetto may seek a parliamentary mandate for it if needs be, Premier Giorgia Meloni said Wednesday.
Regarding the Italian troops redeployed from Iraq to Saudi Arabia, "we have adhered to the parliamentary resolution of March 5th concerning support for Gulf nations attacked by Iran" and "technically followed all necessary regulatory procedures," sh said.
However, "I believe Minister Crosetto would have no issue returning to Parliament—if necessary—to provide a more comprehensive assessment and even secure a vote or a parliamentary mandate." (ANSA).
