No Bra Day 2026: Why More Women Are Choosing the Braless Lifestyle for Better Sleep

'Fashions change and one that has arrived to stay among women is that of going braless. This garment, used and praised for many, many years, has changed in shape, design, and use but, of course, it always had the same objective: to support, shape, and "hide" the imperfections of women’s breasts.

However, we are living in a glorious time, in which women can choose whether to wear one or not without facing empty and senseless criticism. And the truth is that for many women it can be more comfortable. Today, precisely, No Bra Day is being celebrated, so it is important to understand how this can help many of us improve the health of that area of the bust with a simple gesture: taking it off. '

Myths about taking off your bra

Many women face myths about the idea of taking off their bra in their daily lives that can make them hesitate and turn down comfort so as not to sacrifice one of those myths. To that end, we mention a series of myths that we should be clear are just that.

The first and main one is the false belief that breasts sag, since despite this deeply rooted myth, the reality is that this sagging is a natural process that is not accelerated by regularly going without one, as many studies reinforce. Moreover, the comfort of going without a bra is not only reserved for women with small breasts, but applies to any woman of any size and body shape.

Many women may avoid taking off their bra in everyday life out of fear or embarrassment about showing their nipples; however, that is precisely what nipple covers exist for, and they can help you with that issue, as experts say. Moreover, it is no less professional for the nipples to be visible or noticeable; in fact, this is only a subjective perception.

The benefits of not wearing a bra

Although it may seem that comfort is one of the strong points of going without a bra, the reality is that it is not the only benefit we can gain from this practice. In fact, going without a bra can help us improve our self-esteem by accepting our breasts as they are, without enhancements or hiding them.

In addition, setting the bra aside is also an act of defiance against social norms that dictate how women should present their bodies and clothing, helping us to take control of our body image perception, thus promoting self-love and acceptance. At bedtime, it can also improve sleep quality due to the more relaxed nature of this practice.
