From December, Railjet trains will connect Miskolc, Füzesabony, and Hatvan directly with Vienna and Munich, following an initiative by the Ministry of Transportation and Investment.
It is an important step forward that an increasing number of cities in eastern Hungary will be able to connect directly to the Western European rail network. The service will begin on December 13. According to the schedule published by transport minister Dávid Vitézy, the Miskolc-Munich Railjet will depart from Miskolc at 7:03 a.m. and from Budapest Keleti Station at 9:30 a.m., arriving at Vienna Central Station at 12:20 p.m. and in Munich at 4:34 p.m.
The train also stops in Füzesabony and Hatvan, and in the western part of the country, passengers can board it in Tatabánya, Győr, and Mosonmagyaróvár.
Thanks to the cooperation between ÖBB and the MÁV Group, a new, high-quality train will expand service between Miskolc and Budapest, and a new direct connection will also be available for travel between the eastern and western parts of the country.

MÁV operates the Austrian railway’s “higher-quality Railjet trains” on the Hungarian section using Hungarian public service funds, said the minister.
