Texas' loss to Oklahoma left one of the most talked-about images of the Red River Rivalry: a Longhorns fan crying in the Cotton Bowl stands. The cameras focused on her after Arch Manning threw an interception that ended in a touchdown for the opposing team.
The play came with the score tied 17-17 and 10:07 remaining in the fourth quarter. Peyton Bowen intercepted Manning's pass and returned it 42 yards to the end zone to put Oklahoma ahead 24-17. Texas had gone into halftime with a ten-point lead.
The play that brought the fan to tears
The fan's images began circulating on social media immediately after Bowen's pick-six. The identity of the fan and the exact reason for her reaction are not publicly known, beyond the sporting moment Texas had just experienced.

Until then, the Longhorns had controlled much of the game. Manning connected on two touchdown passes, a 41-yard one to Cam Coleman and another 34-yard one to Ryan Wingo, allowing Texas to go into halftime with a 17-7 lead.
Oklahoma responded in the second half and tied the game with a two-yard run by Lloyd Avant. Shortly afterward came Bowen's interception, a play that changed the score and put the Sooners ahead for the first time in the decisive stretch.
Manning responded on the next possession. The quarterback led a 75-yard drive and found Jermaine Bishop Jr. with a 15-yard touchdown pass to tie the game once again at 24-24. Texas then had the chance to take the lead, but Gianni Spetic missed a 53-yard field goal attempt.
Manning's second interception decided the game
With just 19 seconds left to play, Manning threw his second interception of the night. Oklahoma took advantage of the turnover and advanced far enough to put Tate Sandell in position to attempt the game-winning field goal.
Sandell connected from 47 yards as time expired to seal Oklahoma's 27-24 victory. Manning finished the game with 260 passing yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.
The defeat was Texas's first of the season after entering the game as the number one team in the national rankings. The Longhorns will now have to bounce back from one of the toughest results on the schedule, while the image of the fan remained one of the most widely shared scenes from the game.
