Dangote offers to sell Kenya electricity
In other news, Nigeria's Aliko Dangote proposed to sell Kenya 500MW of electricity from a planned power plant at his Lamu refinery.
Kenya Power is at the centre of talks, but key terms of a potential power purchase agreement remain unresolved.
The plant’s proposed 1,000MW capacity is double the original plan, with half the electricity intended for sale to Kenya.
The refinery project is also expected to create about 60,000 jobs and serve markets across East and Central Africa.
