Liverpool have reportedly increased their interest in a 21-year-old playmaker. He's making waves in European football already.
Liverpool do seem a little obsessed with finding playmakers at the moment. They have one of the best in the world with Florian Wirtz, even if they haven't quite figured out how to get the best out of him.
Though, that is starting to change.
But they also completed a deal to sign Samuel Martinez. The teenager will arrive next year and primarily take up a role in the academy. We do feel he'll be fast tracked to the first-team, however, as that's really the only way Liverpool could have beaten other clubs to this deal.
Then there's the clear interest in Gilberto Mora. The Mexican is one of the biggest young talents in world football and links to Liverpool refuse to go away. They're getting louder, if anything.
And now there's another one!
Liverpool step up pursuit of Aleksey Batrakov
Teamtalk reports that Liverpool have stepped up their interest in Galatasaray playmaker Aleksey Batrakov. The Russian only moved to Turkey in the summer but he's not expected to stick around there.
It comes after two fantastic seasons in the Russian Premier League. Batrakov had 47 goals and assists in 66 matches there and he's still only 21. His start to life in Turkey has been good, too.
The highlight thus far came in midweek as Batrakov scored in the UEFA Champions League for the first time. His well-timed run met a fine cross to finish with his head, helping Galatasaray to a 4-2 win over Lille.
The question, though, is what the long-term plan is. Batrakov would immediately face competition in Wirtz. He's face future competition in Martinez and possibly Mora.
Given the probable fee and interest from Arsenal, it's difficult to see how Liverpool convince him. Or how they justify paying the money required to land him.
Still, it's definitely one to watch. Batrakov is simply that kind of talent.
