KUALA LUMPUR: Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun bagged their first Super 750 title on Sunday — after triumphing in the French Open final.
The world No. 11 upset compatriots and world No. 5 Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani 13-21, 21-15, 21-7 in the men's doubles final at Arena Grand Paris.
Wei Chong-Kai Wun's triumph ended Malaysia's 22-year wait for another men's doubles title at the tournament, following Gan Teik Chai-Koo Kien Keat's success in 2004.
It also completed a remarkable turnaround for Wei Chong-Kai Wun, who were eliminated in the first round of last week's Denmark Open before bouncing back to claim the title in France.
