The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has met with High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, to discuss strategies for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general elections.
Kalu, who is also the Deputy Director-General, South II, of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC), held the meeting following the commissioning of the national secretariat of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Abuja on Friday.
The meeting focused on grassroots mobilisation and consolidating support for Tinubu across the South-South and South-East geopolitical zones.
It also explored ways to strengthen a joint operational framework for voter sensitisation, youth engagement and ward-level coordination across states under the South II Directorate.
Kalu described the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as a critical platform for the 2027 re-election campaign, noting that electoral success would depend on mobilisation at polling units and household levels.
He said Tinubu had taken bold, reform-driven decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and improving national security.
Kalu added that the campaign would ensure the message of the Renewed Hope agenda reached every household, describing Tompolo’s involvement as the convener of the movement as strategic.
Speaking earlier at the commissioning of the national secretariat, the deputy speaker said Tinubu’s commitment to building a stronger, more productive and inclusive Nigeria was reflected in initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which provides financial support to eligible students pursuing higher education, and the establishment of regional development commissions.
He also expressed gratitude to Tinubu for assenting to the South-East Development Commission Act, describing it as an important step towards addressing reconstruction, infrastructure and development priorities in the region.
“As a representative of Bende Federal Constituency, I particularly appreciate President Tinubu’s assent to the South-East Development Commission Act, an important step towards addressing reconstruction, infrastructure and development priorities in our region,” Kalu said.

Commending Tompolo for his initiative, commitment and investment in establishing the national secretariat, Kalu urged members of the movement to strengthen their grassroots structures and mobilise support for Tinubu across the country’s 774 local government areas and 8,809 wards ahead of the 2027 elections.
He urged members to take the campaign to communities across the country while upholding democratic values and listening to citizens’ concerns.
“Nigeria benefits when citizens can exchange ideas peacefully and participate in public life with confidence and dignity,” Kalu said.
