ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that the disqualification process against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has begun, predicting that he will be disqualified.
Speaking on ARY News programme Khabar, Vawda said the newly formed KP Advisory Council had 180 days to demonstrate its performance, adding that there would be no room for failure.
He said that if Governor Faisal Karim Kundi managed to deliver even five to 10 per cent of the expected results, the public would move towards the next phase on its own.
Vawda said the advisory council included capable people, but their performance would be monitored closely. He added that members who failed to deliver within 180 days could also be replaced.
‘PTI ruled KP for 13 years but failed to deliver’
The senator said he had criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government when it was in power and continued to speak out against its performance.
He questioned what the party had delivered during its 13 years in power in KP, claiming that terrorism in the province had increased by 195 per cent and around 7,500 police personnel, military personnel and civilians had been killed.
Vawda said the new administration would be judged on its performance rather than its promises.
“Whether it is an Rs11 billion aircraft or Rs6 billion vehicles, there will now only be delivery,” he said, adding that those who performed would remain while those who failed would be removed.
He also warned that the public would no longer tolerate the ruling elite’s conduct, saying people would hold those in power accountable.
‘KP has entered phase one of the reboot’
Vawda said the reboot process had begun in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that the first phase was now underway.
He said the current focus was on tackling terrorism, adding that the next phase would address what he described as state terrorism.
The senator also predicted that his future forecasts would prove correct and said he would continue to share them ahead of time.
