Guwahati, Oct 13: A woman was dragged nearly 100 metres along a road in Guwahati’s Kahilipara after two scooter-borne men allegedly tried to snatch her bag, with CCTV footage capturing the disturbing incident.
The incident reportedly took place on October 5, when the two men attempted to snatch the woman’s bag as she was walking along the road. However, she refused to let go of her belongings.
As the scooter moved forward, the woman was dragged along the road while desperately holding on to her bag. The men eventually fled, leaving behind a frightening scene captured on CCTV.
The incident highlights the risks people face when resisting bag-snatching attempts, as a struggle over personal belongings can quickly turn dangerous.
It has also renewed concerns over street crime and women’s safety in Guwahati, with the incident raising questions about the need for effective policing and measures to deter such offences.
