Naseer Ahmad Faiq, chargé d’affaires of Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, has called for continued assistance to Afghanistan, support for the rights of women and girls, and meaningful participation of
Afghans in determining the country’s future.
On Saturday, October 24, marking the 81st anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Faiq said cooperation between Afghanistan and the organization was not limited to the country’s recent decades of war and conflict. He added that the UN had stood alongside the Afghan people during periods of development, displacement, and crisis.
He said strengthening this cooperation and working toward a peaceful and inclusive Afghanistan remained among the United Nations’ priorities.
Faiq also emphasized Afghanistan’s commitment to its international obligations and the establishment of peaceful relations with neighboring countries.
