Colombian reggaeton star Karol G surprised her fans with the launch of her own tequila brand: 200 Copas, inspired by her hit song of the same name.
Over the past two days, the artist had kept her followers in suspense after sharing on her Instagram stories an image of a dark blue glass bottle with the caption: “What started with a song.” Many speculated it was a fragrance inspired by her track Tu perfume. However, Karol G officially confirmed that it was her entry into the spirits industry with 200 Copas by Casa Dragones.
Karol G’s Tequila: 200 Copas by Casa Dragones
True to her reputation for surprising fans, the Colombian artist announced her new project through a video filmed in an agave field, where she spoke about the essence of 200 Copas. In the post, she shared: “Today, after almost three years of working on this, I can finally announce that 200 Copas, our tequila, is a reality.”
The announcement sparked a wave of positive reactions on social media, with fans celebrating the launch and saying they can’t wait to toast and sing 200 Copas while enjoying the tequila.
The product is an ultra-premium crystalline tequila, crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave. It is aged for more than 12 months in custom-made American oak barrels, resulting in a flavor profile with notes of honey, almond, cooked agave, oak, and citrus.
An exclusive experience with a personal touch
The 200 Copas packaging was designed as a tribute to the song that inspired it: a bonfire under a midnight blue sky. The bottle features Karol G’s 200 Copas tattoo engraved on it, while the box conceals the full lyrics of the song as a special detail for buyers.
The collaboration between the singer and Casa Dragones—an ultra-premium small-batch tequila brand from Mexico — is further sealed with the signatures of Karol G and Bertha Gonzalez Nieves, CEO and co-founder of Casa Dragones, underscoring the authenticity and artisanal character of the project.
The first edition of 200 Copas is being sold in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis through Casa Dragones’ official website. Its retail price is $119.99 USD, approximately 396,000 Colombian pesos.
