Texas football edge rusher Colin Simmons exited Saturday's game against the Florida Gators in the fourth quarter after suffering an apparent right-leg injury.
Simmons, one of the top defensive players for the Longhorns (4-1, 1-1 SEC), fell to the ground after engaging with a Florida offensive lineman on the right side of the line of scrimmage during a running play. Simmons then grabbed his right knee and right ankle, and he stayed down on the field at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for more than a minute before he was helped to his feet. Simmons walked to Texas' sideline with the help of the Longhorns' staff, and he did not return to the field for the rest of Florida's drive before a Gators' field goal.
