It was a family affair this weekend for Queen Letizia of Spain, who appeared alongside husband King Felipe and daughters Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia for the 2026 National Day of Spain celebration.
The family arrived in style in the royal family’s Rolls-Royce to observe the annual military parade in Madrid from the grandstand on Paseo del Prado boulevard. The queen opted for a classic look with a pink flared dress from the Spanish brand 2nd Skin Co., worn with a pair of Jimmy Choo kitten heels.
Fitting with the occasion, Queen Letizia’s outfit was formal but elegant. Her long-sleeve dress was in an understated shade of pastel pink and she pinned a diamond-haloed pearl brooch on her left shoulder. The pearl is integral to Spanish history, often associated with wealth and good fortune.
Queen Letizia’s choice of Jimmy Choo featured a pointed closed toe, slingback strap and low heel all in a subdued chocolate shade that offered an extra touch of sophistication to the ensemble.
Sofia walked alongside her mother in a look that paid homage to the colors of the Spanish flag, dressed in a red power suit with golden buttons and heels in a matching gold hue. Her shoes were very similar in style to her mother’s, and the pair looked on as Princess Leonor marched in the parade in formal military attire to celebrate completing three years of training.
Queen Letizia has been spotted many times in Jimmy Choos over the years, sometimes opting for more eye-catching varieties like jeweled mules. However, her choice of a plainer variety for Monday’s festivities fit with the occasion’s decorum.
Last year for the 2025 National Day of Spain, Letizia wore black Massimo Dutti slingback pumps. Once again, her footwear seemed intentionally coordinated with Princess Sofia’s, the mother-daughter duo both walking in chic black heels in highly similar styles.
National Day of Spain is celebrated on Oct. 12 each year and is meant to commemorate the country’s rich history and culture. The Spanish Armed Forces military parade is a staple of the festivities, and is traditionally followed by a reception hosting the country’s most notable leaders at the Royal Palace in Madrid.
