The Rays have taken control of the series with back-to-back victories in Cleveland, including a 3-1 win in Game 5 on Sunday. Drew Rasmussen delivered another outstanding postseason performance, allowing just one run across seven innings, while Yandy Díaz collected three hits to help Tampa Bay secure the victory. Now returning home to Tropicana Field, the Rays will turn to Freddy Peralta, who tossed six scoreless innings against Cleveland in Game 2. With a chance to capture their third American League pennant in franchise history, Tampa Bay will look to finish the job in front of its home crowd.

Cleveland, meanwhile, faces elimination for the third time this postseason after previously overcoming a 2-0 deficit against the Chicago White Sox in the ALDS. The Guardians have struggled to generate consistent offense against Tampa Bay’s pitching staff, scoring just four runs across their last two games. José Ramírez, Steven Kwan, and the rest of Cleveland’s lineup will need to find a way to break through against Peralta, while manager Stephen Vogt must navigate a challenging pitching situation. With their season on the line, the Guardians will look to force a winner-take-all Game 7 on Tuesday night.
