France has been producing some of combat sports’ most compelling talents over the last few years, and Charlotte Padie is the latest to make her presence felt on the world stage.
The French debutant takes on reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues under MMA rules at The Inner Circle 39 on Friday, November 20, live in Asia primetime from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. The event streams exclusively for subscribers at live.onefc.com.
Padie already carries a resume that belies her age — and the caliber of opponent she faces in her professional debut signals everything about the kind of fighter she is.
Before she steps into the ring against the Brazilian “mom-champ,” here are five things to know about ONE’s fearless new arrival.
#1 She Rose From A Small Northern French Town
World Champions do not always come from the obvious places. Padie’s journey began in Bruay-La-Buissière, a former mining town in the Pas-de-Calais region of northern France, far removed from the country’s traditional combat sports heartlands.
There, she found her home at A.S.A. Kick-Boxing de Bruay-La-Buissière under the guidance of coach Marian Krzymanski, who helped produce podium finishers at the national level.
Padie was at the front of that charge, racking up podium finishes across Billy-Berclau, Grenoble, and Thonon-Les-Bains in quick succession. It was clear early on that she was heading somewhere far beyond northern France.
From a small mining town to ONE Championship’s global stage, the journey is as remarkable as the destination.
#2 She’s A World Champion
A World Title is the summit of any fighter’s ambitions. Padie claimed one before she finished high school.
In November 2018, the then-student at Lycée Carnot de Bruay-La-Buissière traveled to Rome, Italy, to compete at the Junior World Kickboxing Championships. She returned home with the under-56kg title, claiming it by knockout and leaving her opponent no chance.
The title did not arrive from nowhere. National podium finishes had been stacking up for months, each one pointing toward something bigger. By the time she boarded the plane for Rome, she was already a different caliber of competitor from those around her.
She has been declaring her intention to turn professional since then. That ambition has taken years to reach its destination, but the stage she has landed on could not be more fitting.
#3 She Made A Deliberate Transition Into MMA
Padie did not stumble into MMA. The transition was calculated, methodical, and executed on her own terms.
France is in the midst of one of the biggest MMA booms in European combat sports, and Padie used that thriving regional scene as her proving ground.
In the early part of 2026, she stepped onto the French amateur circuit to build the grappling foundations and transitional skills that a striking background alone cannot provide.
That amateur run delivered both wins and losses, each one absorbed and built upon. Defeat was never a setback — it was part of the process. By the time she turned professional, she had already handled the full physical and technical demands of MMA on home soil.
#4 She Is A Champion In Two Very Different Striking Disciplines
Most fighters master one striking art. Padie has national titles in two vastly different ones.
She holds both the French National Kickboxing Championship and the French National Burmese Boxing Championship, the latter a rare credential outside Myanmar itself.
Known as “the art of nine limbs,” Burmese boxing adds headbutts and bare-knuckle strikes to the standard kickboxing arsenal — a discipline so physically demanding it naturally conditions a fighter for the 4-ounce gloves and full-contact chaos of MMA.
ONE houses multiple combat sports disciplines under one roof, and Padie’s multi-discipline background makes her at home across all of them. Beyond MMA, she carries the striking credentials to potentially make her mark in ONE’s Muay Thai and kickboxing divisions as well.
#5 She Dreams Of Becoming France’s Next ONE World Champion
France has already tasted ONE Championship gold. In 2024, Alexis “Barboza” Nicolas became the first French fighter to claim glory, winning the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship and etching his name into the country’s combat sports history.
Since then, the title has moved on. Now Padie has every intention of bringing a ONE World Title back to France.
Padie arrives in ONE with the credentials, the ambition, and the multi-discipline striking pedigree to make that dream a genuine possibility. A French National Kickboxing Champion and French National Burmese Boxing Champion, she has already proven she can win at the highest level of competition her country has to offer.
A statement debut against the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion in Rodrigues would be the first step toward something far greater. For Padie, ONE gold is not just an aspiration — it is the destination.
