Four persons were arrested by Nemili police in Ranipet on Tuesday for killing a labourer in the area due to previous enmity.
The arrested persons were identified as R. Inbarasu (21), S. Akash (24), T. Rahul Gandhi (22) and G. Vignesh (22). They are residents of Nemili village in the district.
Initial inquiry revealed the deceased R. Manikandan (27), was working as a daily wage labourer in the village. Police said that he got into an argument with Inbarasu, a key suspect, over parking two-wheelers near his house. They have been fighting over the issue for the past few months.
Police said that along with his friends, Inbarasu decided to eliminate Manikandan to bring an end to the issue. Accordingly, police said that the gang intercepted Manikandan, who was returning home, and hacked him to death on October 13.
Police said that subsequently, special teams were formed to nab the suspects. CCTV cameras on the route were analysed. Local inquiries were also conducted. The suspects were nabbed from the hideout in the village. A case was registered. A probe is underway.
