The Cincinnati Bengals have entered their 2026 bye week with a 3-2 record after a 31-24 win over the Miami Dolphins this past weekend.
The Bengals are in a better spot so far through 5 weeks than in the past few years, and that should excite Cincinnati fans.
Another piece fans may not realize is that Joe Burrow is playing the best football of his career in the early part of a season.
Burrow had some frustrating turnovers against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars, but outside of those, he has played at an elite level.
One football analyst turned on the 2026 Burrow tape and believes without a doubt that he is the best quarterback in football right now.
Mark Schlereth of the OG Football Podcast shared his thoughts on Burrow and stated: “I can see why they never run it.”
"He's Brady-esque"

Mark just was on the call for the Bengals vs Dolphins in Hard Rock and what he saw out of Joe Burrow made him rethink how he would evaluate this offense 😳 pic.twitter.com/501rNvmG1k
“He is in a complete cylinder. He is so ‘Brady-esque’ in that he is the best scrambler in football that never leaves the pocket… If he sees a profit, he takes it instantly… It is incredible to watch; he is just the best quarterback in football without question,” Schlereth said.
Burrow is the most accurate quarterback in the NFL and can dice up any defense across the league when healthy.
The Bengals QB currently has 1,361 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions through the first 5 games.
Cincinnati will have their hands full out of the bye, visiting their AFC North rival in Baltimore, and Burrow will need to be at his best to leave with a win.
