Each game holds a little extra weight as we hit the second half of the 2026 high school football season in Lafayette Parish and its surrounding areas.
At Week 8 of the season, only four area teams remain undefeated in Westgate, Eunice, Notre Dame and Westminster Christian Academy-Lafayette. This week, those teams will look to keep their bids for perfection alive while also aiming for potential district championships.
On the flip side, some teams are only focused on churning out wins to keep their season and postseason dreams alive. A handful of area teams are hoping this week they can bring them one step closer to earning a playoff berth in the upcoming 2026 Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Prep Classic.
With district play in full swing and the race to the postseason continuing to heat up, every win means a little more for teams across the 337.
Here are the matchups happening across the area in Week 8. Check back here to see live score updates.
