A senior special assistant on media and publicity to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure at least 80 per cent of votes cast in Sokoto State in the 2027 general elections.
Dingyadi spoke on Sunday at Dundaye, headquarters of Dundaye District in Wamakko Local Government Area, during an empowerment programme organised by the Managing Director of the Sokoto State Media Corporation (SSMC), Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye, for 300 indigent people.
He predicted that the APC would win the presidential, governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections in the state.
“We have no doubt that we will win elections. By the grace of God, APC is going to win the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, Governorship and Presidency.
“Out of 100 per cent, we will get at least 80 per cent of all votes to be cast,” Dingyadi said.
The former BBC Hausa Service correspondent also predicted that the APC would perform strongly in the North-West, claiming that the region had more than 20 million votes, of which the party expected to secure at least 15 million.
He attributed the party’s confidence to preparations for the elections, including the establishment of campaign committees from ward to zonal levels.
Dingyadi also disclosed that the APC presidential campaign would be flagged off in Kaduna on October 24.

He commended Dundaye for providing financial assistance to 300 APC supporters from the Dundaye, Gumburawa, and Gidan Bubu districts, describing the initiative as an example of leadership that politicians and public officeholders should emulate.
“I commend and appreciate Sir Labaran Lumo Dundaye. He has done a lot. This is one of the things we want our politicians and those in power to be doing in their localities.
“Bringing people close to them, helping them, supporting them and empowering them. This is one of the aspects of leadership,” he said.
Dingyadi urged Nigerians to contribute to community development and complement government efforts instead of relying solely on the government to provide social amenities.
Speaking at the event, Dundaye said the financial assistance was intended to support the welfare initiatives of Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu and ease the economic difficulties facing residents.
He urged residents to support Tinubu, Aliyu, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
According to him, the administrations of Tinubu and Aliyu had implemented projects and programmes that warranted public support.
“Tinubu and Ahmed Aliyu have done a lot. The Governor of Sokoto is now the best-performing governor in the history of Nigerian politics. President Tinubu has constructed many projects in the northern part of Nigeria.
“It is now payback time. It is time for us to give back what the government has done for us,” the Sardaunan Dundaye said.
The Chairman of Wamakko Local Government Council, Hon. Umar Ahmad Dundaye, also commended the SSMC managing director for the initiative and urged residents to follow his example.
He called on the people to remain united and support the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Other speakers, including the APC Assistant State Financial Secretary, Alhaji Sani Dalla Dalla; the party chairman in the area, Alhaji Rua Umar Nabana; and the Manager of Social Media and ICT at the Sokoto State Media Corporation, Siraju Bello Gumburawa, also commended the initiative.
They urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the financial assistance.
Some beneficiaries thanked the donor and pledged their continued support for the APC.
